Welcome to Fusionscape

1. Our History

Fusion Scape began in 2014 in response to the social and economic challenges faced by children and young people in the inner suburbs of London. 

With the closure of youth centres, youth clubs and downsizing of early years provision within children’s centres and no Sure Start, parents and carers were telling us that they find it hard to locate services that support the wellbeing of their children outside of school and nurseries and holiday clubs were too expensive and out of their reach.

To meet this challenge, a group of parents came together to set up Fusion Space to meet the needs for growth and development of children and young people.

  • Children and young people to develop skills and abilities that are necessary for transitions into adulthood.


3. What we do

Work with Families

  • Fusion Scape works with families in local communities to facilitate easy access to informal learning initiatives and outdoor learning opportunities that support and nurture the development of cognitive, social, and personal competencies in children and young people.

Work in the Community

  • To build strong relationships across different communities we bring people together to participate in social, physical, educational, cultural activities. By allowing children and young people to be involved and take the lead in organizing these activities, we create an environment where they can learn new skills, discover new potentials, develop confidence and participate in society as independent, mature and responsible citizens.

Creative Engagement

  • We engage children and young people by creating social spaces where they have opportunities to learn, discover new skills and build friendships with other peers. During activities children and young people contribute ideas that shape the design and delivery of our projects. Likewise, we enable children and young people in finding challenge, recognition, and achievement through adventurous activities.

Leadership and Social Action

  • Our programs encourage and support children and young people into becoming change agents in the community. This involves volunteering opportunities, charity fundraising, setting up social enterprises project that facilitates the development /design solutions to a local problem. Participants are supported to develop inter-personal relationships, the capacity to self-motivate and enhance their ambitions towards the future, aim high in education, career prospects and setting up of leadership goals.

Entrepreneurship

  • Promoting entrepreneurial and social enterprise education within communities and the provision of practical support by way of information, advice, guidance, and training on how to start a business.

Capacity Building

  • Support to other organisations to work more efficiently with young people and the community. This includes providing resources, skills training, developing governance structures, recruiting, and training volunteers and ensuring safeguarding standards are maintained including quality assurance.
