Cultural Expressions is a performing arts initiative committed to offering a genuine arts-focused curriculum tailored to children and young people from ethnic minority backgrounds, functioning as an engaging and participatory activity beyond the traditional classroom setting.
The programme actively nurtures grassroots music by creating spaces where Black and ethnic minority musicians and music professionals can refine their talents, experiment with new ideas and methods, and gain valuable experience in building and connecting with a variety of audiences.
We collaborate with local artists and community leaders to ensure that our activities remain relevant and accessible, providing children and young people with role models who reflect their own experiences. Through cross-cultural workshops, showcase events and festivals, participants are encouraged to share their stories, fostering mutual respect and appreciation among peers. These events highlight individual journeys providing a platform for dialogue and learning between different cultures.
